[?][?]Can anyone suggest some quiet bays/walks that we can take our bouncy labrador too - as you know most Turkish seem petrified of dogs - He loves water and we just need places we can take him where he can go off his lead and be safe - he is only a year old and very bouncy and needs some freedom - we do have a car. Local knowledge please!! Thanks

Most of the bays around the Letoonia road are good for walking dogs. Gemiler Beach is also good this time of year and so is Olu Deniz. Just avoid Sundays, as most Turks have their day off then.

Go to Yaniklar (about 3 miles west of Calis).
There is a stream which runs in-land from the sea for about 1 mile. It is knee deep. The beach itself is practically empty and, if you walk along the pebble shore, you will come across a small beach-cafe. You can let your dog run amock on the beach whilst you recover from the walk!

Thanks - we will do both of those now we have some holiday for the end of Ramadam. :D

Just hope you have a strong nerve going down the road to Gemiler! ;)

I would agree with Glen that Yaniklar beach is perfect - and further agree that the beach bar helps.

It's not the strong nerve going down to Gemiler that you need. It's the strong legs you need for coming back up!

Its a nice walk to start at Calis and follow the coast all the way to Yaniklar, we often do that one.
-
I am a bit interested now. Does that mean walking round the Telemessos Tor to Helen's bar and continuing straight along the beach will lead straight to Yaniklar?

Sure does, straight down the beach over the stream in the woods round the bend and you are almost there.
-
Totally agree its a brilliant walk and suprising how quick you get to Yaniklar
