The man drawer
« on: December 15, 2012, 20:22:26 PM »
You may be familiar with Michael McIntyre's routine "the man drawer"

It is said that many homes have one. Here's mine.

Do you have one and if so what's the strangest thing(s) in it.

Mine has a destroyed passport and not one, but two used light bulbs :o

In fairness H yours does look a bit too organised.

This subject is a little bit sexist, so, I would like to tell you about my 'magic tin'. An old Quality Street box filled with washers, screws, batteries, curtain wire, fuses, string, nails and all things useful for a bit of DiY.
I also have another tin labelled 'forgot where I put it'. This houses all manner of things from buttons to foreign coins, spare car keys to small torches.. I use this tin all the time, when cleaning off the kitchen table. If my daughter loses something now, she knows to look in the tin. It has stopped a lot of rows in our house.

I too have  a man shed, full to bursting. It has a door at one end, and what I need at the other end.

Nearly 3 years ago I arrived back in the UK with just a rucksack and a binbag full of clothes.

I now have a man-garage, a man-shed, a man-cupboard, a man-rucksack, a man-box, a man-tin, a man-table and a man-kitchen full of all the man-things I might need,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,'til I remember somethingelse that I'm going to find man-useful oneday.

On the plus side, if Mrs KKOB ever needs anything fixing, she knows who to ask.

I don't know why she never asks me though.   ;)

This is the smallest of 3 man draws I have full of computer leads, old phone chargers where the phones have been disposed of, old print cartridges that I don't have the printer now etc.

I was going to share a photo of my man cupboard but each time I open it its so crammed full of crap half of it ends up on the floor.
