It's something I have always been interested in too Mark - I read the book 'Auschwitz' when still at school and have been interested ever since. It must be an incredible and humbling experience to actually be there.

I wasn't laughing at tragedy by the way, I was laughing at geordieboy - I can't believe anyone exists who doesn't know how to spell Hitler's name, he was quite famous.

My post was'nt meant to be frivolous,I am only too aware of the horrors perpetrated during the second world war,I was having a pop at these places of horror meriting being a mid week break.
Sorry to have spelt Adolf wrong.
I read the same book Scunner, only in my day it was spelt Auschwitz, not Auswicth as you spelt it,but I shan't make a big deal out of it.

Thanks for comments Krakow is a beautiful and historic city and has many things to offer.  Obviously we visited these places because they are of great interest to us but on the flip side there are many things to see and appreciate, basically something to offer for all tastes.  Give it a try cos am sure no one would be disappointed.
