Oh, my God , I've well and truly blotted my 'Copy-Book' now, sorry if I raised a lot of students, (or parents thereof), expectations, not intentional I can assure y'all. Best of luck with your results. Woke you all up though,Eh??

Well my son has got in to Uni and I couldnt be prouder!
Hes battled against all the odds after having developmental delays in speech, walking etc due to a genetic condition (neurofibromatosis).
He was badly bullied all through senior school, and had to go to special catch up classes and have a scribe to support in his GCSE exams. Then he completed a 3 year vocational childcare diploma as he wouldnt have coped with the conventional A Level route.
I do agree that it has all got easier, and in my day someone with his limitations wouldnt have had support and definitely wouldnt have had the chance to go to Uni.
Hes a very special lad and hasnt let anything or anyone stand in his way. Teachers often get bad press (and his senior school was awful - in fact the 2nd worst in the County!) but without the support and dedication of a few amazing tutors he wouldnt have made it.

He's off to study Criminology in a couple of weeks and all I have to do now is stop sobbing about my baby leaving home.....
