I am at this very moment reading a book called "Prophecy" by Peter James. The prologue starts in 1652. In a nutshell a guy buys an eight year old child from his poor mother and takes him to the house of a pervert. He rips his clothes of and eyes him up lasciviously. Just then a sergeant and four soldiers march in. They grab the pervert and hold him down on a slab, one on each arm and one on each leg. The sergeant heats a poker in a roaring fire and sticks it up the perverts ar*e penetrating all his vital organs. He is of course dead. Now that's fair punishment. I'm only up to chapter three and don't know how this fits in with the rest of the plot
