Just watched it for the first time - not for me I'm afraid - seems like a poor man's Father Ted to me. Gags need to be sewn into scripts seamlessly, this is a list of gags having a script built to accommodate them.

Caught 15 minutes of it last night, the gags are definitely not sewn into it seamlessly and as much as I didn't want to laugh at it I did. As far as Father Ted was concerned how seamless was the drunk slobbering retired priest? Couldn't for the life of me see what was funny about Father Ted. As far as old time comedy is concerned I loved old Mother Riley, Mr Pastry, Norman Wisdom etc but above all Al Read.

Last night was not as good.  However, would advise you give it another go next week, as we enjoyed the first three episodes.
Also loved Father Ted and still watch the re-runs now always makes me laugh even though I know what is going to happen ;)

Exactly, the role of mature person who swears has been done to death already.

Last week's literally made me cry with laughter, not done that in years. I must have a very simple sense of humour:-)
