If you want art (not famous prints) try your local Auction.  Over the years I have bought some really nice pictures. In my living room 4 water colours and an oil. The oil I bought about 15 years ago with a most beautiful original Victorian frame for £16.00.  One Water Colour which was £20.00 I researched and found the Artist was from Liverpool and was quite famous and is documented in lots of Art books. However, I bought these pictures because they appealed to me at the time and not because I thought they might be worth more than I paid.

Where I lived about 30 years ago a couple of our neighbours took the "opportunity" of a special photographic offer of studio prints of all your family at very special rates. Of course, the sting was the hard sell that would come at the end where you were asked to select your favourite snaps and order several, very expective prints in large format. My neighbour ended up with a 5ft by 3ft canvas print just above the living room mantlepiece, so that constantly staring down at him were the grim, unsmiling faces of his in-laws. Imagine settling down on the sofa to a warm, cuddly Saturday night with your wife under this chilling, unblinking gaze. I'll let you imagine it; it gives me the willies.

Incidentally, can you email me, as I have two people with your name on my email contacts and I know one is a customer with your name, so not sure which one you are.
