What do Cats do

Our cat often goes out and comes back 2 days later. This weekend he went out on Friday and only got home half an hour ago :o

I was wondering if there are cat experts on CBF who can tell me what they might be getting up to when they go AWOL long term. When he comes back he is knackered but not (as I would maybe expect) starving - in fact he doesn't even eat, just sleep. I have concluded that he is up to one of the following:

1. Out all weekend living on mice and birds

2. He has a second home

Does anyone who have good experience of owning cats know what the truth is likely to be?

Did you have the cat before you moved.

If yes, then could he be going back to his previous home.
