A nice post from one of my American FB friends - Rhe De Ville :
"I met Robin Williams in the Fall of 1989 when I was hired to be Julie Kavner's (i.e Marge Simpson/Rhoda's Sister's!) stand-in on the set of Penny Marshall's film, Awakenings. Thanks, Judie Fixler.
I was there, daily on set for nearly 3 1/2 months, picked up at 5:30am Monday through Friday, via a mini van in Tribeca - and taken to the location, a hospital, in Kings County, Brooklyn.
Anne Meara (Ben Stiller's Mom) was among the passengers.
On set, Robin was an electric presence. "On" from the moment he arrived, stopping to get in character for each take, would soon after quickly resume into his comedic, improv schtick. So, so funny.
I have a photo of him on set that I will find eventually.
I recall he was elated over his (then) new wife Marsha (who was on set nearly every day) and his new baby daughter Zelda.
I also remember, the San Francisco earthquake happening during this time and his immediate focus back on his family in Northern CA.
One thing I remember, however, quite well, is that, during that time, I briefly rekindled my teenage romance with first love, Adam (Boxleitner - RIP)
Before the days of cell phones, I'd called Adam while on set and Robin walked by the room I was in, and grabbed the phone - and began speaking to Adam.
He went off on this hilarious ramble that I only wish I could have recorded.
I thought Robin was truly special, gifted nearly to a curse, and so did Adam.
I'll never forget it.
Now, to find the photo...."
