Queen to Visit Turkey in May
« on: February 20, 2008, 11:03:44 AM »
Hurriyet confirm that Queen Elizabeth II will visit Turkey in a few months time.

It is not known where she will stay, as the refurbishment of the Aries Hotel may not be completed by May. It is also understood that she is insisting on a room with a bath and shower, which may prove difficult.

Prince Philip will accompany her Majesty. He is said to be keen on experiencing local customs and soaking up traditional music and dance. Hisaronu's 'Talk of the Town' were tight lipped on any special guests they may or may not be expecting. There have however been rumours of panic buying of Michael Jackson masks and karaoke cd's.

Hurriyet further explain that "One particular protocol which has always been followed during foreign visits by the British queen is that women at dinners wear long evening dresses, while men wear black tuxedos". Staff at Hamburger 24 have been given British Etiquette training.

The Royal couple have already had to alter their arrangements, and Her Majesty is "not amused" that she cannot travel on British Airways, and has not travelled on Easyjet before. Buckingham Palace staff are understood to have paid an extra fiver for "Speedy Boarding" tickets.
