Often due to a vast variation in location/facilities/quality of the establishment.

Ah well, go for it...

I was in England at the weekend (keep it under yer hat, nattamean? NATTAMEAN? Eh? Eh?!) and guess how much a beer was at the hotel?

I have no idea, I wanted a beer before heading out and I just ordered one  ;)

Depends on the location / facilities / quality of the hotel !!!  If it was the Savoy probably about £8.00 per glass... ;)

Efes - £1.15 per bottle via Amazon !!

It's down to personal choice where you choose to drink and what price you pay. That really is the end of this topic, but I bet we get another 14 pages.

You are getting plenty, do you think you are being prevented from voicing your opinion here in some way?

Every year same old same old.  The price, to me, does not matter, it is the place you choose to spend your time and money that matters.  The ambiance, the food standard and quality, the hospitality and honesty of the owner, the friends etc etc.  Every year it is the same old discussion over saving 20p.  If you choose your bar/restaurant/cafe etc by the price of the beer then "you pay your money and take your chance".

Yes, there is a massive difference between the right to free speech and boring us all to death. A different year, a different expat, same old important subject, the price of Efes.

As for free speech, the forum is yours to discuss this highly interesting topic, why is a beer cheaper in some places than others. Like that isn't the case in the UK.

The NEW price of a bottle of Efs from the brewery is 2.41, work out what you want to pay, and drink where you want to, hope this helps in your quest.

Couldn't agree more.  I can't even remember what price we paid for Efes last year so if it's gone up in price when we get there in May it won't come as such a great shock.  We'll buy, we'll drink and we'll enjoy it in our favourite places - end of story!

It is not about the price of beer to me, it is about the feeling of being ripped off, if you live in a village in the Uk and 6 pubs all close  to each other have a difference of £1.20 for a pint of beer, ie some charging the equivelant of 3tl some 6tl they all offer the same veiw, the same menu, the same polite staff why would anyone want to pay more.
Why is it every time this subject comes up there are smart ars** comments about it being boring, I can find hundreds of topics on here I find boring so I choose not to read them or not to comment.
Many people live out here on a budget just as many do in the UK, for the small amount I drink it's about knowing I am getting value for money.

Who is ripping you off Mark? You ask "How much do you charge for Efes?" They say 3 lira or 6 lira or whatever, you buy or you don't.

You'll be going if I say you are - you are wholly incompatible with the 7,000 who are "the rest of us" on CBF. If you don't like the style, and consider it to be mafiaesque, don't come. Have some respect for the free speech you value so much. CBF freely gave you the platform from which to speak.

You need to change your choice of venue if everywhere you go is the same etc etc
Buzz Bar, voted in the top 10 beach bars in the world, comfy chairs, fabulous music, fantastic food and probably (I don't drink it so couldn't care how much it is) expensive Efes but worth every lira.
We're quite happy to pay a premium for quality surroundings.

Dear mr chairman of the board
if you thought i was slagging of the forum you were wrong
i was simply replying to those negative statements that refered to me
and i was expressing my feelings accordingly
please forgive my insubordination

Only been on the forum a couple of weeks but knows who the "same old faces" on here are...I don't think so...

The problem with people like you (and many have come here to take a swing prior to you following them years later) is that you bleat about free speech but have no idea what you are talking about. Because people don't hold the same view as you, you feel you aren't allowed speak your mind. Even though you just did.

I will not continue this conversation with you and there is no need to dig at me about the need for insubordination. You just need to realise that people who disagree with you aren't bullies, they are people who disagree with you. This conversation, and this topic, is a total snapshot of everything that makes running the Calis Beach Forum a total pain in the arse and is now closed.

Should anyone wish to start a topic about the price of Efes and conduct it in a way that differs to the behaviour of a spoilt child, it will be more than welcome.
