Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay for a few nights in Kussadasi. We want to do Ephesus and Pamukale but dont want to go on a coach trip we want to do a bit of exploring on our own.

There is a very nice town called Selcuk, pronounced Selchuk, next to
Ephesus that would be a nice place to stay. The Ephesus museum is there

Google Selcuk and you'll get lots of options

Just a tip, try not to be in Kusadasi when a cruise ship just arrives. Our first experience of Turkey was taking a cruise and arriving in Kusadasi, it was hell every shop keeper and every cafe owner was out on the street trying to drag us in. We had no peace to walk around and it really gave us a headache.

Doesnt happen like that now Jacqui. Kus council will close down shops and bars if they act in this manner they permit a little light hearted banter only ,plenty of decent hotels to stay in and loads of good resturants ,just keep away from bar street.

We are going to do the same thing penny. We have booked to stay at Epheses Beach in Kusdassi at a 5 star hotel (albeit a turkish 5*) for an outragous £34 for a double room AI!
I would love to have stayed in Selcuk but you get so much less for your money but more authentic local hotels. Cost were about £70 per nigh b&b. In door pool and spa kinda won I am ashamed to say.
Try on the beach.com or kuadasihotels.com
