"If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same"
Well done Rory McIlroy. You may have made a complete ricket of the final round at the Masters, but the way you dealt with it was very impressive. :)

Just thought when I saw Rory speak what a lovely young man he is and how well he spoke for his 21 years. I know he will come back stronger, but Ireland can be proud of him. He could teach Rooney a lesson any day.

I didn't know Wayne was a keen golfer [?][:(!]

Thought it might be obvious that I mean in manners and sportmanship...

Not everyone is a Boris Becker, winning titles from day one - Rory, like Andy Murray, just needs to go from great player to absolute winner. And both will.

I thought that the thread started by H about Mc Ilroy didn't need to be hijacked by your continual sniping [:(!]

I'm not really convinced that Murray has the required mental toughness to win a grand slam title.

yes he suffered in the final round but very proud of him,and no doubt rory will be back.

I have to keep reminding myself that this young man is still only 21 years of age. To demonstrate that amount of maturity at that age is simply remarkable. I don't doubt that he will achieve great things but if he doesn't ever win a major then he will still be someone ever so special.

Dont know where you got that one from Keith, whatever makes you think Andy Murray is a great player, is that a scottish thing?[?] ;)

We rooted for Rory all the way, he seems to have maturity well beyond his years and he is such a good player. He comes from the next town to where my husband comes from, so my husband has a soft spot for him. I am sure we will hear great things of Rory in the future.
I think Andy Murray is also a great player and lets not forget he is still young too. He was a lucky lad to escape that mad man in Dunblane that must play on his mind sometimes. I wish him and Rory all the luck. Lets get behind our British Sportmen.

The thread was about how sports people treat the two imposters, triumph and disaster rather than how good they are at their chosen sport.
McIlroy impressed me with the way he treated his disaster. As did Greg Norman and Boris Becker in the past.
