Just like to say a big thank you to Ilknur for helping us with our residency. Very efficient lady who made the whole application painless. Running around offices etc took about 5 hours which included pit stops for breakfast and lunch. Hey presto 3 weeks later Residency books ready to pick up.
Thanks Ilknur.

So its 80 dollars for the 1st years RP = 126 YTL @ todays rate, and 149 ytl for a Blue book :o the size of an old UK driving license :o they will get you one way or another:-\ ;)

You can get up to 4 residency visas with just one blue book, so potentially, it will last you for 20 years ie 7.5 tl / per year
-
Thanks guys will be phoning her today.

BMO6 you've always had to buy a residence book so this is not a new expense. You buy it when you first apply then you can renew 4 times on the same book.
The annual fees are drastically reduced so it's a fantastic gain and not "they will get you one way or another"..
I did my residency in 1.5 hours, with no help, so it's really easy if you follow the instructions and get your copying and pics etc done the day before.

Fi when I did my last RP it was 20mil for the book 8 years ago, the 1st one I did it was free :o:D
-
so I can knock off the 149 Lira when renewing then?
-
If you have a book then yes you don't need another one....instant saving lol
-
Someone recommended a Turkish lady called Rosie from Uzumlu that could help with residency applications (cost 50 TL) - does anyone know if this is the IIknur referred to in the earlier postings?
-

The above gives the basic procedures (and places to go) but go by the current tick list you'll be given at the passport offices as some things are different now.
Pay the tax first and then all the other calls are in walking distance. Do all your photocopying the day before.
If you are getting one for the first time then you'll have to add on a visit to your Muhtar (the day before) and buying a blue book at the PTT.

Rosie is the same person but she lives in Fethiye. She is my Turkish teacher and has recently become a qualified translator. Believe me she will make it a proffesional but fun experience. 50TL to take the stress off is well worth it.
