Does anyone know if there are any new deals going with TTNET for ADSL

I didn't think they did any real deals, they charge what they like and get away with it. Such are the powers of the mega monopolies in Turkey. >:( >:(

No there isn't, they ask you what speed/package you want, they tell you how much it will be, you sign a 2 year contract for that, you walk away expecting to get what you signed for, they sit there rubbing their hands and laughing at the word 'MUG' written on your forehead.
You then spend a few hours every week for the next 4 years calling them about the fact that you get less than 1mbps download speed and you constantly lose the signal.
On their part, they are very helpful, telling you that it is your faulty modem, your internal wiring, you are too far from the repeater box or you have too many phone points in your home (yes really - their engineers told us we should only have one).
And the latest one, it is their fault, we need a new cable, but they have run out and can't afford to buy any more yet!
That's what you can do to customers when you have a monopoly! :-\

We've had many occasions when ours has gone wrong, been chopped by the JCB etc.
Have to say we've been very lucky and they've sorted it quickly.
Their customer service is generally very good on the phone, no endless being on hold and fobbed off ( arrrggghhh memories of Tiscali )
Once or twice they haven't been able to resolve over the phone, and Johns been down to their Fethiye office and seen a really helpful guy upstairs.
We signed up in May to a new 2 year package, much cheaper than our original deal, and when all is going well our speeds are around 5 which is fine for streaming tv etc.
I think were paying around 30tl plus phone line, and there was a couple of months free thrown in too.
100 free landline minutes included, which we never use.
We currently have completely unlimited as our previous 'unlimited ' was in fact capped, and after you use your 'allowance' they cut your speed down to useless.
When this happened to us we rang them and they upped our package for an initial 1tl a month more, but goes up significantly in year 2 if you stay on the higher package, so we need to reduce the package again in May to avoid a year of higher charges.
John will have to curb the amount of stupid American vampire series that he downloads.
If you're going to be streaming and downloading a lot go for the full unlimited, but realistically you'd have to be downloading an awful lot.

It does not really matter as TTnet own the physical wiring, regardless to which company you use...:(
It could however be worth considering a rival if they can offer a lower price than TTnet but don't expect the speed to be any better...

I saw this campaign : 44 TL / month ( instead of 67 TL ) if you sign a 24 months contract. Last date for application is February 28.

Have been back less that two weeks and found that our so called "5Mg" download speed is capped at .85 -.87Mg. Of course the people in the TTnet office just shrug their shoulders, "no understand Inglish" style.
Just wonder how much longer locals and expats alike are going to stand for the joke that is TTnet???
I certainly would subscribe to any company who could maintain a steady bandwidth speed above, (or even near) 5+Mg.

I just looked at TTNET 's web pages : http://www.ttnet.com.tr
I also have a campaign contract for 2 months no-pay , 10 months 44 TL and 12 months regular payment for a 24 months contract. This new one looks better. If you go to the TTNET main office or a branch office when you are here , there may be other offers. All is based on 12 or 24 months contracts.

Having witnessed British mentality at its best in the TTnet office I'm not surprised they shrug. It makes me ashamed how abusive and demanding some have been.
I was in there one day and some half cut woman was screeching at this poor man.
I apologised after she left and explained were not all the same.
Seriously, if someone Turkish went marching into a UK telecom building would they get a a Turkish speaking person?
It's excellent that we can press 99 for a English when phoning them.
I've also got the same package Libra described.
Whenever we've had a fault, frequently while they were digging the roads, we've found them very helpful. We went over our limit and had it slowed down and paid a bit extra to rectify it. The telephone staff are friendly and helpful and if you need someone face to face take a Turkish friend to help you.
There's a really helpful man on second or third floor that speaks perfect English if you get really stuck, it says fibre optics on the door.
If you go in there all guns blazing you'll get attitude in response. A friendly smile, a Merhaba and a problem var will get you a long way.
