We have an Orange ING Bank account each and need to contact ING Bank in Fethiye. We are currently in the UK. Has anyone got a contact name, landline telephone number and email address for an English speaking person in that branch please? Thank you for any help you can give.

They are a nightmare KM - that's the bad news. The good news is that I have an email address for one of the managers who speaks reasonable English. Mention Calis Beach Forum too. He helped me when everyone else ignored my attempts to sort things out.
I wouldn't bother with phone numbers, waste of bleeding time with ING!!
Individual email addresses on the internet are a bad idea, I'll PM it to you now.

Hi Scunner could you please do the same for me as well , I don't have any problems with them at the moment but it's always good to have contact there.
I know i'm lucky and can pop in there any time.

Me too please Scunner, we are sick to death of this Bank, impossible to contact and impossible to go in and get served. We think we will have to change banks.

Is Sennur Baltac still at Ing as I am getting emails I am sending to her returned undeliverable! If she has moved on can some kind person suggest somebody who speaks English and can help with my account at the Fethiye branch.

Scunner, I have search high and low for that email and cannot find it. We have a standing order with them for our Electric and a couple of weeks ago I heard from Olga that our electric was cut off because we had not paid our bill. Luckily Olga has now paid it for us. However, it would be handy to have the email so we could get in touch first and perhaps let them know when we are coming in to see them and find out why they have not paid the bi..
So, can you let me have the email address again please? ... Thank you. ;D

O.K. Phil has just emailed this guy and the mail has been returned saying it cannot be sent. That's a shame because Phil sent a lovely email, took ages to compose it.

That's a real shame because he was one of the last ING good people who could communicate in English. I#ll look for other names but I'm not hopeful. I had an absolute nightmare - house to buy (in UK), contracts exchanged, just need to bring the deposit home from Turkey and can you believe it - couldn't get onto the ING website to do the transfer.
I don't often do stress but this was stressful beyond belief. Guneri helped me and sorted it without any further delay. Without him I would have had to have booked a flight and gone over.
I do get the impression people don't stay long at ING in TR.

Just to bring you up todate I have tried to email the bank again but still returned "unable to deliver" I then tried to send a Fax 3 times but could not get through to the branch!
The Fax number I have used is the same as used in past from the UK 00902526144329. Scunner was kind enough to provide me with the managers email but even this has failed
to be delivered. Any suggestions please.
A rather desperate customer.

On this form it asks for your T.C. number, but does not tell you what the T.C. number is??? Anyone any idea??

Is it not your tax number?

No, its your (if your Turkish) ID card number - otherwise known as Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Kimlik Numarası. If your not Turkish you should put your Yabancılara Kimlik Numarası there instead.
If you don't have either than you can try using a tax number, or simply leave it blank - if it lets you.

No, not tax as that is 10 numbers and they are asking for 11 numbers

Yes, Phil tried that, but it is all in Turkish and when you try to speak they cut you off.

Phil did speak to someone who said he would put him through to someone who would help and spoke English. when he was put through, Phil started to speak and the guy said something in Turkish and put the phone down. He tried again a couple of times and then gave up.
We unfortunately, do not speak Turkish, we try to learn as much as we can when we are over. We have tried for classes locally to us, but there are none. I would love to speak the language. If you lived in Turkey you must have learned the language, I am sure we would too if you lived there.
I wonder, just how many people on this Forum do speak fluent Turkish? and if they don't , I suppose you would hold them in contempt and despise them for daring to own a house or have a holiday in Turkey without speakng the language fluently.
I feel quite sorry for you that you feel it necessary to be so rude and so nasty.

I had to go to Dundee for Turkish lessons, there were none in Aberdeen. Some of the Turkish people I know speak very little English so I enjoy being able to converse with them.

Rude and nasty? Nah... not even close - I save that for folks I dislike.
I suspect you could count on the fingers of one hand the "fluent" Turkish speakers on here, i.e. those who could be classified as Advanced (C1/C2 CEF scale). It's likely that there will be a higher proportion who are scattered between Beginner (A1) and Upper Intermediate (B2) with the bulk being A1/A2. Then of course there will be those who simply have their two weeks here and there who have no need (other than daily pleasantries) to learn any Turkish.
While not holding permanent residents in "contempt" (your word, not mine) if they don't speak any Turkish I do find it a bit disrespectful that so many make no effort whatsoever. Maybe its a British thing where everyone is expected to speak English, a throwback to the days of colonialism.
I know quite a few folks who live in Fethiye full time, have done for several years and speak next to zero Turkish. Not even numbers or days of the week.
I just don't get them.
Personally, I've never got beyond Intermediate (B1) and through lack of use I suspect now I'd be lucky to scrape past Elementary. International law firms in Turkey all use English as the common language so working for one didn't help my Turkish.

Did you go to Dundee Uni for lessons? If so you may have had the same teacher I had years ago, cheery wee chap called Oz.

The local Tailor in Peterhead is a Turk, he charges an arm and a leg for alterations, so I stopped going to him, but when I did I used to have a few words with him in Turkish and he always used to get annoyed with me if I said anything wrong. I got the impression he thought that I should not be even trying.

Apparently she speaks English.

Thanks to Dutchie, we made contact with the person in the Bank. She asked us to come in today. We got up at 7.00am got ready had breakfast and got to the Bank at 8.48am. There was already people waiting to get in. We waited and amaziingly people just pushed in front of us to be near the door.. When it opened a whole gush of humanity rushed in. We followed and they all queued for numbers. We asked for the lady and she called us over...Result.
She dealt with our enquiry about the non payment of the Electric Bill and we asked her to make sure it was paid every month. Then came the devastating blow.... She said she was only enquiries and we had to get a number to go to the other assistants to sort this out.... Oh Dear!! She got the guard to go to the machine and put in our account number and get a number. However, on waiting to be seen the number sequence is different if you have a Business and they take priority. Bottom line. We arrived at 8.48am and left at 9.40am. We have now sorted out the internet Banking, so, hopefully we will never have to go into that Bank again.

Strange because we had a couple who live in the area over this afternoon and they told us we should transfer to the Garanti as they always get great service there.. Goes to show, that all these Banks seem to be the same.

I think you will find that most of the banks will be very busy on a Monday morning.

We have found the ING busy all the time, whatever the day. I recall a member here saying she waited 2 hours in one weekday afternoon.

We changed from the Garanti to HSBC as the waits were so long. No problems now

Used to wait a long time but now never more then ten minutes and often less.
Its because we use our debit card to get the ticket often you jump the queue by tens.
I also tend to go around 4 o clock/
