Title: Stil Lightiing.
Post by: Jacqui Harvey on September 14, 2015, 13:59:15 PM
We went to the new lighting shop today on the Gunlukbasi Road.  Coming from Calis it is quite far down, but before you get to Kipa and is a new stand alone buiilding on the right hand side.
We were amazed at the huge selection of lighting. In fact, they have three floors of lighting. So you would not fail to get what you are lookng for.
Lighting starts at very large hotel lights to very small corner lights.  Lovely and cool in there with excellent air conditioning.  Just a young couple runnng it, they were very pleasant.
The shop also has lots of table lamps, vases, candelsticks, photo frames ornaments.  Once we picked our light, I had a good look around and bought a really nice crystal sweeite  for all of 45 TL.   Lighting is very reasonably priced.

Also if you need the lights installed they know a very good electrician got all my lights for our new villa there. Delivered  and installed the next day.

Stil lighting,
Went in there last year for a replacement lamp, nothing special, they don't sell replacements, or so they said!

Not a new shop Jackie,I bought some Turkish gifts from Still  In May last year, noticed they had some beautiful lights and lamps for sale along with lots of gift ideas, and all at reasonable prices. A very nice couple run the shop and they were very helpful, even though there was a language problem, which we over came with the help of the phone translation. My daughter was delighted with her beautiful vase which we purchased.

Well it was new to us  :)   Don't know how anyone could say it was nothing special.  Lovely shop with three floors of lighting and gifts.  If this is nothing special where is the "special" lighting shop in the Fethiye area?  I want to see it.   :)

Lamps go in light fittings, bulbs go in the ground!

If George reckons it's nothing special, then in his opinion its nothing special.  Folks are still allowed to have opinions on here, even if they do differ from yours.

Sorry George misunderstanding there.

J.F. before you sound off in your usual bull in a China Shop manner, have you been to this shop?
I have a PHD  in shopping and three floors of the lighting not to mention all the giftware is pretty impressive to me.  I have never seen a shop with so much lighting in the Fethiye area.  There is no doubt they have something for everyone's need in lighting.

I already had "sounded off".

Would that have been an Aberdeen Angus bull you were eluding to?

have you been to this shop?

Makes no difference if I have or have not as whether the shop is special or not is irrelevant.  Your opinion is that it's "special" and you obviously don't like someone's opinion (albeit misunderstood on this occasion) saying that it's not.  Forums are all about sharing opinions.

I think it is totally relevent if you have seen the shop.   As you and I mistook George's post.   The shop is special and has a great selection of lighting on three floors.  So, as I have seen it and you have not, you cannot make a judgement .  I have been in the shop which made me surprise at Georges comment, which, of course, was not a comment about the shop.

You'll have to explain that comment.

I wouldn't want to misinterpret it.

My Mother told me it was a war time saying.  People were asked not to disclosure information that could be used by German spies.
I remember learning about in school too.... The adverts on all hoarding etc., was "Be like Dad, keep Mum"  not P.C. nowadays though.   :)

Truth be told, I didn't pay much attention to Georges post, it was your response that came over as a bit demeaning - as I said before, the "specialness" of the shop is irrelevant.

I do administrate, i.e. I fix things when they break and I agree, Steve is really nice.  In fact he's so nice, sometimes I just want to give him a big man hug.  Not sure he'd let me though.

Unless it's deserved, for offences such as trolling or being a complete online dick etc, I don't waste time by being rude to members (I make an exception for KKOB though).  That said, if someone wants to find offence, I'm sure they'll find it - the odd one or two on here are good at that, especially if someone disagrees with their viewpoint.

I really don't think the odd person I pi$$ off is going to affect the membership of CBF, in fact given the challenging times for online forums with the rise in social media its doing pretty well, all things considered.

On the basis that I still haven't received my P60 for last year, if I do get sacked then I'm heading right for a tribunal - might not get far with the case though, as I've been trying to get my jotters since circa 2009.

Jacqui, I trust you are aware that this is not actually Fernando Torres, but simply a username. Maybe you should take it easy on the Rum & 'Slimline' Coke  ;D

Are jokes & humour still allowed on here then?

After reading this thread, it appears doubtful.

Back on topic: we bought an LED light fitting from there in January, about 6 weeks later we had a thunderstorm and our electrics shorted out, blowing the transformer in this fitting.

After trolling all the electrical retailers for a transformer I went back to the lighting shop, they replaced the transformer with one from another fitting then found the LED circuit was damaged so gave me a complete replacement fitting & with a smile said "Warranty"

Excellent customer service attitude.
Will recommend & use them again.  8)
