Open a Norwich and Peterborough account - no atm charges if you have £500 a month coming in or £5000 deposited

You can draw any currency on a Halifax Clairty Card and get the best rate of the day. It is always No.1 on Martin Lewis's website. Just make sure you pay it off at the end of the month, there is a charge to do this.
If you have a Nationwide Plus account you can draw out Sterling with no charges. They do charge to draw out Lira. So, you can get Sterling and change it over there.

I think..... Use your nationwide card to withdraw sterling from an ATM and then change it into lira. Sure I will be corrected if wrong!
-
As Jacqui and lissa state. Use your nationwide card to withdraw STERLING (HSBC, AM bank ), there is no charge for doing this. Take sterling to bank to change it.

Am.....AK bank

If you use a Clarity Card to withdraw cash you will be charged interest from the time of issue. It will then appear on your statement as a pending transaction (when you check online). After a couple of days normally it will be processed and appear as a normal transaction. Anytime after that if you pay the amount you withdrew you will limit the amount of interest charged as the bank will pay off the transactions with the highest interest charge first.

Definitely use the NW account to withdraw sterling. No charges for that at all. Make sure you use the correct atm though. HSBC is OK. So is AK Bank - as stated above.

Thanks very much i did not realise it had to be a certain atm thst is prob where wechave gone wring befire!
Bit reluctant to use any of the atm's by taxi rank in Calis does anyone know if the atm by aqua park is one of those mentuined please? Thanks.... :)
-
Not sure about the one by the aqua park Karennina but we have used the HSBC facing the taxi rank with no problems.
Hubby gets the cash and I stand right at his back so no one else can get near. We have never had a problem.
There is also one on the back road in Fethyie we have used without problem now and again

There are 2 ATMs on the main street (BMB) in Calis now - on the right hand side maybe 50m after you cross the bridge.
If I recall correctly they are HSBC & AK bank.

HSB Bank in Fethiye had no sterling in it this morning.

The Akbank ATM on the Esnaf road usually has sterling.

Ok thanks all

Yes we use either of those just past the water dolmus - then you ain't far from the exchange place ;-)
