Title: Hisaronu Rape Story in News

A BRITISH tourist claims she was held hostage, beaten and repeatedly raped by her fiance.

Melanie Lightowler, 38, who has waived her anonymity, said only an intervention by the Foreign Office saved her.

Melanie Lightowler, who has agreed to be named, claims she was held hostage and raped by her fiance

She flew to Hisaronu, Turkey, last week to marry a barman, who we are not naming, after meeting him on holiday last year.

But he is said to have turned violent — ripping up her passport and locking her in her hotel room.

It is also claimed he video-called Melanie’s cousin in England as he allegedly battered her.

She alerted the Foreign Office, who contacted local cops.

Beauty salon owner Melanie, from Tilbury, Essex, said: “It was horrible.

"I was held hostage for 36 hours and only saved when the police burst in and took me away.

“He could have killed me. He raped me repeatedly.

"He had sex with me at least ten times.

“When I was with the police they laughed and said, ‘That’s a lot of sex for a man to have’. I couldn’t believe the attitude they had with me.

"I’m speaking out as a warning to other women to be careful.”

How awful.  The poor woman must be traumatised.
