Title: moving to turkey june 07
Post by: irnbru630 on March 13, 2006, 00:51:35 AM: once i sell my house in uk hoping to move to turkey im a single lad 40 scottish and an army pension of £690 a month will this be enough for bills etc....please advise

and you can,t get one anyway,as you won,t get a work permit.
Its just the thought of the turks trying to understand your accent.

Personally, I learn more in Turkey, I get no end of help from my Turkish friends - and they don't laugh at me (often). It's too easy to forget when you get back home, with little chance to practice.

Sorry Im English but the good half is a Scot and I have lived and worked there for years.( I am also ex service)

We have done two 5 year stints in Turkey and left in Jan 2000 after the big depram. It is not impossible to get a job there but go through an international agent ( Head Hunter ) Give me your background and I can send you two in Turkey) otherwise you will only be offered local salaries and it will not be legal.

Things have changed since we left, in 1999, Turkey was one of the cheapest places to buy petrol, now I hear its the second most expensive in EU.

However one thing hasn't changed is that the Turkish people are very very canny. That is why we hope to get a property there this year.
