Brain Teasers (3)
« on: December 04, 2006, 21:17:20 PM »
For those who really do have nothing better to do, here are some more brain teasers.

The number at the end of the question indicates its alleged degree of difficulty out of a hundred. The lower the number the harder it's meant to be.

Why the teaser is solved I'll post the answer in red next to the question so you need not torture yourselves too much

Here we go:

Q1. Something that gets hold of you
Good or bad, it's what you do
Of course some can wear it
    Especially sisters might bear it

     What is it

     77 A habit - wickwilly - that's three I think

Q2. It's a part of that on which you stand
And to a dog, a strict command

    What is it

    72 Heel - tinkerman

Q3. What can be killed but cannot be conceived

    57Time - Amca

Q4 When I'm in the rough it's as dark as night
But do not despair, someone brings me to the light
Soon I am changed to so perfect a sight
   Future is bright - I'm a lady's delight

   What I'm I

53 A diamond - Crabbit (must be used to buying them)

Q5. I hold things up of the fit is right
I cause some trouble if I'm too light
Used in a car I show my might
Prefaced by green I'm quite a delight

    What I'm I

    53A belt - AliBaker

Q6. What am I

It's given for some things that are done
A statement that sometimes is needed
    Resulting from some faulty action
When propriety has not been heeded

    48An apology - GordonA

Q7. If a male bull can drink 8 quarts of milk per day and a baby    bull can drink 3 quarts per day would it be logical to suggest that a female bull could drink 5 quarts a day

34There are no female bulls - Crabbit

Q8. A man works in a circus and walks from his flat every day. He lives on the 24th floor and on his way to work he always takes the lift. On his way home he also takes the lift ,however he gets off at the 14th floor and walks up 10 flights. He hates walking up the   stairs and wouldn't do it unless he had to. What could be the explanation for his strange behaviour.

    26he was a dwarf - wickwilly; he was a dwarf - wickwilly - sorry I've got a stutter

Q9. I'm the leader of a nation
Yet I stand but one foot tall
They say I can measure up
    But only if it's small

    What am I

    20.A ruler - Scottishcouple - I can't keep up

Q10. Fashioned of precious metal
     A symbol of privileged birth
     Fashioned for daily living
     No metal determines my worth

14 A silver spoon Wickwilly's done it again

Q11. There is a true story of a man that went to an expensive restaurant with friends. After their meal they found that the bill came to several hubdred pounds. The man asked if he could pay with a cheque to which the owner readily agreed. The cheque was never     cashed. In fact whenever this man wrote a cheque it was rarely cashed. Who was the man.

11Piablo Picasso - Canalman gets the point as it could have been a.n.other famous person

GOOD LUCK - DON'T LOSE ANY SLEEP THOUGH ITS ONLY MEANT TO BE A BIT OF FUN
