When my eldest boy (now 29) was aged 8 - 16 yrs old we had season tickets to watch Oldham Athletic.
He has had a few problems recently so I suggested we take in a game as he has not been for years and we could have a few hours together to talk. So as I am going to Fethiye on Dec 22nd I suggested the next home game - this Saturday - Oldham versus Brighton - he jumped at the chance so I said
"leave it to me - I'll treat you and get the tickets".I drove to the ground - walked through the driving rain to the ticket office with my £40 in hand to be told - £4 please!!!
Apparently the club always suffer from low attendances the week before Christmas as most men are frog marched around the shops by
she who must be obeyed (maybe it happens more in the North!!!) - so they decided to promote the game by offering all seat for adults at £2 and children at £1.
When did you last get such a pleasant surprise - and Marcus - nothing from the boudoir please!!!!
