No problem, I've opened an MFI in Antalya.

It isn't a real one, it's in the back of a corner shop, but if it's successful erm er no that sort of business plan won't work lol

How can a vast hypermarket style furniture store think to open a "small one" to see if a big one would work? One table with 2 Ikea catalogues on it is hardly a trial run  :)

Copy of the answer I got from IKEA today regarding Antalya. Looks like they're still thinking about it.

First of all thanks for your interest in IKEA.

Antalya is taken place to open a new store according to our development plans. New store openings will be announced to our website.

Best regards,

I suppose it is good to see all you good people being tolerant of IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad's Nazi past, but I cannot forgive him for building grotesquely ugly dark blue monstrous boxes all over the country - and especially the one close to where I live. May he, and his company, rot in hell.

I am not aware of any Nazi links Colwyn. I am completely satisfied with IKEA and their 'designer' products. I bought a coffee table called "Hess" and a modular storage rack called "Goering".

OK, you may have negligently overlooked Kamrad's membership of the "New Swedish Movement" in WW2 time. And also the current company's objectionable corporate practices. But surely you can't have missed the dark blue despoilants of our planet that the swine has proliferated? And have you seen his sofa beds? They are atrocities (I know, I was forced to view them by daughter #1). Hanging is too good for him.

Not a great fan then Colwyn?

I find the "Git" range suits my style, especially when teamed with "Ars".

And MFI stands for Made for Idiots. I have purchased odd items from ikea but never the furniture (get mine trade). plus I hate being forced to go around the whole place following stupid arrows on the floor. unsure what the owners political past has to do with the stores today.
