Ignore me folks !  I've just found the answer on Turkish Airlines website - NO !  you have to go via Istanbul, and it takes almost as long (if not longer) than driving !.  Think we'll probably have to drive too, but haven't mentioned that to the Chauffeur yet  ;)

on the way back we decided that once we got to Konya (horrible place, avoid at all costs)

Konya is worth a trip even if you just go to the Mevlana museum. Very interesting and the home of the Whirling Dervishes.  :)

Has anyone taken the Hot Air Balloon flight ?  We would like to do this when we visit at Easter, but understand there are hundreds of agencies that do this, and not all are as concerned about safety as they should be....Any advice or recommendations please ? :)  (Mr Pookie says I have enough Hot Air to go it alone.....cruel)

Dave, it was all we could afford !

Linda, we will probably meet up next year as our 'big adventure' will be Istanbul. 2006 was Ephesus & Pamukale, 2007, Cappadocia, 2008, Istanbul, where next ?

I bet he will hate it even more than me, most of the architecture looks like it belongs in Chernobyl.
