Thanks for the reply tinx.
The problem we had was due to the builders on the new complex next to ours digging through the mains water pipe. We are on Riverside near the Pelin Hotel. All the surrouning area across the canal from the Pelin was affected by this problem. But true brits, stiff upper lip and all that, we battled through it.
It didn't spoil our stay but we saw it as an inconvenience that does happen in Turkey as well as here in the UK.

So milbur was the job completed by the time you came home?
We are due to go out soon and live over the river from you.
as i told tinx we also had the field next to us flooded in july so it must have been leaking for some time.

I think for geographical purposes we should call our area Westside
or would Wetside be more appropriate?

I have sen a digger go down our road to level out the gravel/shingle road and in the process damage a water pipe. Thats been leaking since, ohh I think it was easter or maybe may.

Its just a trickle but it runs into a ditch so its not such a problem.
but you would think the locals would have reported it since its outside there houses.

 :) In our 4 week stay near to the Sunday market the water was off every day until tea time,and the electric quite a few times. ;)
