New Years Eve
« on: October 11, 2007, 19:27:54 PM »
Hi everyone.  We are anticipating coming over for New Year.  Problem is, we're bringing a couple of freinds with us and we can only get 2 dates for flights and it looks like they're going to be on New Years Eve.  Is there going to be anything going on and if so where and can we book please from here[?]

Elsa :)

Hi Elsa  Any time is a good time to be coming to Calis and yes New Year is celebrated by quite a few Bars along the seafront .Check out a copy of the Land of Lights on the web  " www.landoflights.net " a bit nearer the time and you will find they advertise.Nil bar and Orient Express definately put on a New Years do but sure there are a lot more to choose from so keep looking and good luck

The best New Year's Eve I think we've had in Turkey was 2005/2006 at Anna Bar. We actually planned to spend it somewhere else but it was pretty rubbish so we left.

Absolutely buzzing in Anna, I can't imagine there were more Turkish revellers in any other seafront establishment, which was great (as the place we left was pretty much Brit only) - and the UK/Turkish blend was great.

You could eat or not, your choice, live music, belly dancer, great atmosphere, all the kids had a great time together, and it was just rather superb.

I think I will go see Mehmet to see what his plans are this year.

But do we need to pre-book?  What's the dress code?  Is it dressy  as in the UK or more casual?
Just bought the flight tickets with quite a good price and are really looking forward to our hol especially as we've missed out on the October half term one!

Thanks Elsa

Also, we don't get in to Dalaman till 4pm and so won't arrive till around 6.30 pm (if our transport arrives)and so will any of the shops be open and what are the opening hours around that period?  Are the shops going to be closed for days and days?

Thanks

Elsa

We are also out for new year and am also wondering what the dress code is? We have booked for the Nil bar new years eve, so what do you normaly wear? Have also managed to find flights for half term week if anybody is interested its 2 one way flights out with xl on Oct 29th and return with fly thomas cook on the 5th Nov £135 all in each. Not sure if the half term dates are the same elsewhere but we are in Wales
