Support March In Fethiye.

 :)Just had a text from my friend saying they are jopining a march in Fethiye for the Turkish soldiers , can anyone enlighten on the subject, apparently there are 10,000 people there,

It is in support of the military fighting the outlawed PKK in Iraq bordering on Turkey. Several soldiers have been killed in the last few weeks. Yesterday virtually every Taxi was in support by driving in convoy round Fethiye all with the usual horns going!

I was there! Thousands of people turned out but didn't see that many non Turks. Saying that, with that many people marching, would be a bit difficult!!

Just reading the latest from Reuters on the fighting and extracted this paragrah from it, if you are thinking of joining any fuure marches, be warned, I support them all the way.

In Istanbul, three people were slightly injured by an explosion at a demonstration being held to protest against escalating PKK violence.

There were meetings held all over Turkey to support the soldiers. It was a fantastic experience, a sea of red with the Turkish flags, all the chanting and prayers for the soldiers who had died and the soldiers who are there now. This is one of the many reasons why i love this country, they are so proud of their nation and not afraid to show it.
