GranT,  in essence capitals means your shouting rather than talking and considered plain bad manners.

I'm also sorry if I have upset a few old and new members over the last couple of years. I know I jump in with the 'no capitals' myself but I do try and explain why.

The moderating on here is pretty laid back compared to some forums.

Apart from it being bad Netiquette, a post in all capitals is quite hard to read, especially if it is a post of any length. I agree, this forums mods are pretty laid back, we should think ourselves fortunate for that!

I think you're all ace! It's a thankless task I'm sure.Having recently found an un-moderated site for a Spanish resort which is flooded with p0rn references and advertisements for Viagra I can definitely see the benefit of mods.
In fact you could be even stricter for me . Why stop at caps? Pick people up on grammar, punctuation and not using the spell check!

I have to say that I whole heartedly congratulate Keith and his team of moderators.  It is very hard to keep a 'handle' on something that grows so quickly.  Look at any business where it starts small and intimate and there is merry banter between those who all know each other. As the business/company grows the perspective changes.  Before you know it you are suddenly just a number in a big organisation with no face and the pleasantries and intimacy diminishes.  People get hard and horrid.  I have been a 'reader' of this forum for three years now and am constantly in awe of how the site is 'marshalled'.  I love looking and reading posts, often left grinning to myself at the computer.  The site remains as fresh as the day it was launched, with good information, jovial banter and real homely feel about it.  This is very hard to achieve.  Given how big this site has grown since it was first launched, I say a hearty Well Done to Keith and the moderators.  May the spirit of the site remain unchanged.
