Children and Turkey in my opinion are a match made in heaven (not bad for an agnostic..or is that antagonist
). The learning and instilling of family values is a refreshing change to the majority of UK. However, over the last 8-9 years I have noticed a minuscule slip which I first recognised and appreciated back then.
Schooling, maybe early teachings in Turkey are reminiscent of UK bygone years, the "3 R's" (why when one is a "W" & the other "A" I will never understand). A worry, when the child is older, what opportunities await them? Probably like many you, on our travels meet young waiters/waitresses who have completed a university education in politics, teaching, engineering etc only to find there is no opening for them, many have experienced their education qualifications do not count for much in other EU countries, that is if the can afford or able to leave Turkey.
The question is, will these British children encounter the very same hurdles in later years? Many more wealthy Turkish with "new" money are sending their children to complete university education in UK.
Sorry totally off topic.
I think my opinions have become slightly jaded over the last few months; why? in the space of one week 3 times 3 different shops/establishments tried to rip me off. I have confidence that something in the coming months will restore faith.
