CBF Hacked last night
« on: December 16, 2007, 08:45:38 AM »
Was I the only one who had the site hacked by some Turkish organisation last night?
Just wondered how long it was down for.

Whatever you don't go to ebay via the emails you've received. Today I've had a load from paypal saying Paypal have put a temporary stop on payments to companies because the IP address of request for payment was european & to click the link. Needless to say I haven't & going in via normal chanels there are no payments - looked really authentic too!
It probably has nothing to do with last nights hack.
Congrats to all for getting the site back.

I've just had an e-mail from pay pal saying that they were paying for an item I had bid on for 48 us dollars. There was a link to what looked like the paypal site. I didn't click on it and went via the usual route to check my paypal account. There was no payment pending for this transaction. Steph

It is not just the fault of CBF for spam and absolute rubbish emails. many of us are innocently guilty via multiple emails forwarded.

I posted an explanation on the forum  {A Link to an old CBF topic was here - no longer available}18847

Excuse me Missus, it is not the fault of CBF for spam, rather than not JUST the fault of CBF!

Nobody has access to member email addresses on CBF - even of you email someone, you still don't see their email address.

Mind you, a good point that if you post your email address in a topic on CBF, you are a bit daft and probably deserve all the cr4p that arrives on your inbox  :)
