This is a rather interesting scenario which involves a couple of friends who live on a Sitesi in Fethiye. It is a medium sized site with about a dozen or so blocks of six some are owner occupied but the majority are rented and the vast majority of those by Turkish Families. There is a very high turnover amongst these and it seems many just disappear owing rent and electricity which is paid direct to the site owner not the electric company. Due to "Sloppy Management" they allow bills to mount up and this encourages more people not to bother paying. I am told thousands are owing which I assume to be Lira. In an effort to crack down it seems the owner has given all the residents notice that on 17th he is cutting off the electricity supply to everybody including the handful of British families ALL who have paid the electric bills.
I would have thought this was illegal but I don't know....anyone like to voice an opinion[?]
