Reflections on our Calis September 2009 Visit

In no particular order:::

Brilliant nights out with Laffa and Kenny, Alan, Jukebox and Cavfan, Trainer and others.

The too loud music in Scarlett - such a pity.

A beautiful meal in Bella Mamas. Best of the fortnight by a long way.

Wall to wall football in nearly every bar and restaurant.

Having to buy a belt to keep my trousers up - a great feeling

A bad experience at Bamboo - perhaps a one-off

Two fabulous boat trips with Jerry - sheer pleasure.

The attitude of some staff at Letoon - that maybe me being over critical.

Seeing Mrs H healthier in the sunshine - no better feeling.

The weather for some of the time - but didn't last long.

Meeting so many CBFers especially Scunner and Steph at last.

Not being there at the same time as Crabbit (I think).

Meeting a gentleman who used to play for Ross County (my home team) in the 50's/60's - it's certainly a small world.

Being hassled by a few (and only a few) restaurant people on the front - I know your restaurant and I'm capable of deciding if we are going to eat there or not.

Visiting Zeke (the jeweler) in Olu Deniz - always a pleasure, he's such a nice man.

Our very good friend Marta not being with us - we missed you Martha.

"Wall to wall football in nearly every bar and restaurant"

Bet Mrs H loved that!!   :o:P  (Just the sort of thing I try to avoid when i'm on hols!)   :)

Rest of your holiday sounded great though!  Isn't it just a fab place to be?  Can't wait to go back ...............   ;)

My point exactly Julesbob - it's almost impossible to AVOID it. I cannot see that having a large screen TV showing football is an attraction when your going into an establishment to eat.

Ahh, ok, I realise now that you were taking the pi mick, and that the blue bits are your "not so nice" reflections!   :o

We wouldn't eat in some of our planned restaurants for this very reason - nothing worse that everyone staring at the big screen, and giving you dirty looks as you want to sit and chat instead!  :(

We're not big football fans, and watching the tv is one of the last things I want to do when I'm on holiday.  (We were talking to one EPK a while back who had to rush off, as Eastenders was about to start!  How sad is that [?]:-\ 8) )

Jules
Watching Eastenders whilst living in Turkey does not make one an EPK, good friends of ours watched said programme while living there.  :(
