A young man was killed this evening on the Denizli road.  Riding a scooter, no helmet, collided with car.  So sad for the family.  Do wish they would enforce this helmet wearing.:(

Oh yes, that's really sad.  Imagine his family.  If people wont discipline themselves to wear helmets/seat belts, then the law should be enforced to protect them from themselves.

It is very sad but those who should be enforcing the law are sometimes the biggest culprits. The number of times I have seen the traffic police riding around with their helmets on the back of the bike like a fashion accessory. I have seen the police driving up one way streets. What terrible role models these are for young motorists.

Of course very sad but I do believe it needs more than law enforcement, it's like drink driving and not wearing seatbelts - in the UK the mindset was changed to make these things both illegal and undesirable.

Yet another young life expires, leaving a grieving family and friends for something that may have been a trip to A&E if a helmet had been worn. Same with seatbelts - people are DEAD who would have possibly got away with a few bruises and a sore neck. The whole concept needs to be addressed. It isn't all about wearing these things because the law says you should, it's also about wanting to.

The problem in Turkey is also what is Allah's will will be - not sure how one gets past this belief?

His family turned up at the scene, don't know whether someone called them or not, and the grief was heartrending as it would be for any of us who lost a child.  What I found rather unpleasant was that the body, even though covered, was just left on the side of the road for about 2 hours.  Photographed by the Police but not 'in situ'.  2 ambulances came but left him there.  Eventually taken away in a pickup.  Horrendous for the parents.

How very sad, especially when the wearing of a crash helmet might have made the difference between life & death!
Our thoughts go to his family and friends.

Our condolances to the families to the two young boys that lost their lives last night. The accident was right in front of where we live and we, along with others, wish that we could have done more for them.
There was a helmet in the middle of the road so we would like to think that at least one of them was wearing a crash helmet.
The ambulance that arrived first did leave the lad who died at the scene so that they could take the other lad who was alive on leaving the accident, as we understand it he died on the way to hospital.
It will be a vivid memory that will stay with us for a very long time.
Today we have witnessed family, school friends and others that have been to the scene to pay their respects.
A very sad loss of two young boys. Our hearts go out to their families.
