Flythomascook - not using 1st leg of a flight?
« on: September 15, 2011, 13:14:31 PM »
Hi - I thought this had been covered but can't find it.
If I decide not to use a flight from Dalaman to Manchester next summer but still want to use the return leg 5-weeks later:

Do I have to notify them?
Can they charge me an admin fee?

I have e-mailed Customer Services and they have given me a number to ring and said "I do have to notify them" but I don't want to ring and give them my details / booking reference if I don't need to.

I thought I would leave this on as it might be useful for other members even though I have now called Flythomascook.

After Googling - I read a number of reports (particularly long-haul) where is seemed you would be removed from the list for the return leg if you didn't fly on the first leg so I decided to call Flythomascook.

The young lady did ask me where I was flying to - and then said - "let me check" - she then came back after a few seconds and said "there will not be a problem - the gate will close an hour before take off and you will be down as a no show - but will still be included on the register return leg" - so fingers crossed - but it does seem to vary from airline to airline - so be careful  ;)

If you booked 2 singles there should be no need to notify them if you booked it as a return and don't use the first leg of the journey they will automatically cancel the second part as they will assume you haven't travelled unless you advise them.

Kizkucuk - that's what I thought - but unless she has got it wrong it seems ok with Flythomascook - but I will check again closer tot he time as I have nothing in writing and that worries me!

Got it in writing - although they did say on the phone it differed from airline to airline and also the country you were flying to:

Thank you for contacting flythomascook.com

If you go down as a no-show on your outbound flight from Dalaman to Manchester this is not a problem your return Manchester to Dalaman will still be a live flight which you will be able to travel on as normal.

Hope this help of there is anything else you need please contact us.
