Cheaper then the UK??? Have you seen the price of petrol & beer?
Last week it cost me 3500 lira to fill my LPG tank up at home. Then I go to the local pub and pay 18 lira for a vodka tonic.

My rent is 5000 USD per month, compound fees is 872 tl per month. not that cheap yet.
Local pub charges that much for vodka tonic (absolut) and 12 for efes but they have Guinness on tap at 15 lira.
You can find much cheaper drink but you would need to go to a dive to find the cheapest places which is frequented mainly by alcoholics and trannies. Basically they charge a higher price to keep those sorts of people away.
