Watch for the announcement of taking a big pay day management job in Ruski or Italia.. am I getting cynical in my dotage where this sort of thing is concerned? Perhaps, but I could see the resignation outcome coming as soon as I heard he had made the statement in Italy.  It was obviously driven by something other than Terry or indeed the England captaincy, particularly from a man who didn't think the job of Captain was worth worrying about, and that sort of volte face can only - I would suggest - be from the offer of another big paying job ;)

Clearing Harry of tax dodging has made this the perfect football storm

By the way, if I'm wrong about the Cappelo job offer, I'll probably have to admit that Tottingham are a top four side .... no  no no :Ddon't be daft :D top four Conference team more like:D:D

Capello resigns as England manager.

What is it about Italians abandoning their sinking ships?

I have some sympathy for Fabio. The FA put him in an impossible situation. They should have formally told him that they were sacking Terry. He is after all the manager and is entitled to some respect. I am no fan of Terry and I would not have him in the England team but Fabio does have a point when he says that it is up to courts to find him guilty.

Well if the FA stripped Terry of his captaincy to keep harmony during the Euros they have certainly made sure they have put a stop to that. Football managers should be involved in any team decisions. The FA have meddled in the squad like an overseas owner. Capello had already planned to go after the European games so nothing really lost. He is Italian I'm not sure he subscribes to the trial by public opinion that we in the UK seem to subscribe too these days .

I understand that Paul Gascoigne has just arrived with some sandwiches and bottles of beer at the house of his recommended replacement - Terry Venables :o.

Whoever said that form was temporary but class is permanent may have to revisit that maxim ;).
