Electricity Prices 2012
« on: August 02, 2012, 14:16:15 PM »
I've just been informed that the apartment I'm renting in 2 weeks time has added a £6 per day charge for aircon electricity - this is due to excessive electrity price hike this year I'm told. I've rented this apartment for the past 2 years with no additional aircon charge.

So, just wondering if this is a valid expense that reflects local 2012 increases in energy costs or another sqeeze on a very limited budget??

Yes, there's been quite a hike in electricity costs this year

Looking back at our sitesi bills, this time last year, the cost per kWh was 0.171930, which had reduced from the 2010 cost of 0.178198, it's now 0.208540.

For those who use Aircon and electricity heavily during the hot weather your weekly cost are high, so I can understand this fully.

We often see a £40-50 weekly electric bill in the hot months.

Thanks - I'm impressed by the quick rate of response....!!

Seems then that it is a reasonable pass on of local costs - with the weather as it is here I can't imagine ever the need of aircon just central heating.

Calis here we come!

£6 a day thats an extra £72  a week !!! To apply it NOW with 2 weeks before you go is so wrong!
Our apartment was occupied 3 weeks in July and the electricity bill was 69TL. Fully occupied for all of June 76TL - all I can say is I must have considerate guests fortunately!

About ten years the charge per room for air conditioning in a hotel was two pounds a night if my memory serves me right. I know that electricity  prices have increased a lot since then.
