It was in the Nursery and they have a list of rules as long as your arm.. So an employee of the female variety is quite safe.

I wonder if there's a good case for a claim of gender discrimination ?

I took 3 of my grandchildren to see Santa before xmas and they sat on his knee. And he was definitely a man.

It was made a rule in schools a couple of years ago, but it seems to have spread to
shopping centres now.  I knew nothing about it until we went to see Santa and
I was surprised to see him sitting on a bench with the children, until my daughter explained.
When my Granddaughter went in, Santa patted the seat next to him and asked her to sit down with Mummy.   Photographic evidence and website details of Santa rules.

When my parents first visited Turkey they were absolutely shocked to see men picking up the girls and giving them a hug - I also recall the girls steering the water taxi and my mum almost choking on her false teeth when the Captain playfully smacked on of the kids on the bottom as they sailed across the bay. Or the time one jumped onto a complete stranger's lap to sit on a crowded dolmus.

It has gone way too far in the UK - we all know there are bad people out there but we should look out for them, not prevent the other 99% (or whatever the figure might be) from engaging in things paedophiles might involve themselves in to get close to children.

One of the greatest gifts Turkey gave us was the ability for our kids to have a rounded, loving early childhood. I don't believe it is, or will be possible in the UK in future.

wasnt it a woman who molested the children in Plymouth, shouldn't the rule include women also after that incident then?
