At the Consulate meeting last week, I picked up some information on a regular newsletter issued by the British Consulate for British Ex Pats living in Turkey along with information on how to stay informed on both Facebook and Twitter. Details for anyone interested below:


Dear Madam/ Sir,
Your e-mail address is successfully added to our newsletter distribution database, thank you for your interest.
We have two important points to mention in terms of establishing closer contact between the British Embassy Ankara and British residents in Turkey.
 
First, you are invited to join our social media network on Facebook and Twitter. These channels provide continuous and up to date information that includes news from the Embassy and our Consulate General in Istanbul. All you have to do is to “like” the Facebook page and “follow” the Twitter page. The links are:

Social media & electronic communications, such as email & this newsletter, are becoming more important as ways in which we in the Embassy/Consulate can communicate with our resident British community and visitors/tourists quickly and clearly, ensuring we reach a wide audience with a consistent message and important/useful information.

Not only will you be able to see relevant news as it happens by following twitter, but the facebook page is constantly updated with articles highlighting the wide range of work that is being done both in Turkey and back in the UK to futher strengthen links between the two countries and benefit us all.
