New Health and Safety regulations for properties
« on: July 08, 2013, 21:19:12 PM »
Has anybody heard anything about new H&S regulations for properties ?  (mandatory pool depth markings , mandatory information in the Villa about pool cleaning times , mandatory warning signs etc)

Some I am sure are sensible .....

No in answer to your question. However we have a sign stating 'wet surfaces around pool' 'no pool attendant' etc which our property managing company recommended to pass the responsibility to renters in the event of an accident.

Turkey has since last year started putting in place H&S. The web site is  www.onurosgb.com.It is based on the standard systems that in place through out the UK and Europe.I think it will only effect owners if they rent out their properties as they would be responsible for others safety. 8)

Health & Safety regulations, lol. You can make as many rules and regulations as you like, it will only be effective if the Turks are educated in being H & S concious, or dangerous practises are dealt with through the courts.
Maybe they should start doing something about the holes and deep trenches left unprotected on the pavements and roads.
Turkey has various laws that are very similar to the UK's, it's just everyone ignores them.

Yes, was thinking about H.&.S.  one day whilst sitting in the garden and watching guttering being put on a neighbours roof.  All the guys where wearing shorts tee shirts and flip flops.  In fact, at one point I could not watch as a guy was balanced on the edge of the roof manhandling a piece of guttering.  Only his toes (in his flip flops) where on the roof the rest of both his feet where over the edge....

We were walking up around Faralya last year when there were new pylons being erected, and all the guys up them would shout hello, and wave as we walked by (and most of them with a fag in the hand that wasn't waving)  and not a safety belt between them. I love Turkish health and safety  :D
