Dalyan mud baths suitable for kids?
« on: June 06, 2005, 16:33:54 PM »
We were planning on going to the mud baths this trip, but I have read on a holiday forum that its not suitable for kids. Mine are 7 and 4. Has anyone here taken children?

We took our (friends and ours) with us (2 five year olds and a 18 month old) a week or so ago.

They loved it, the boat ride over was fantastic and the place easily accessible

Couple of points:

Floor is very slippy there. Would need to hold their hand to stop them slipping over
Showers are just a trickle of running cold water which you have to use to wash off in

Providing they can handle the above then they will love it, the 'mud bath' is only 18 inches or so deep and you float as soon as you sit down. The salt bath is fantastic, as warm as a real bath and other than the smell of rotton eggs was great

Also place there to get a drink and ice cream. Dalyan is also lovely with plenty of shops and a kids play area with bars surrounding

Thanks Steve, I kind of thought it must be ok for kids but didnt want to waste a trip. They'll love plastering themselves in mud!

Tonya, when we were there last year a young lad literally dived (well flopped actually) straight into the mud, when he came back up for air all you could see was the whites of his eyes, everyone howled laughing and he looked as pleased as punch.

you'll have a great time

Tonya - kids and mud? They'll have a great time! All the adults act like kids too once they are covered in mud. The Turks must think we're all potty!
