Two years ago Rich was awaiting an operation and we wanted to get a quick holiday.  We flew out near the end of September for a very reasonable price.  The flight was half empty, the reason being that all carriers were charging ridiculous return prices - some as much as 300 euros.  We flew back with Turkish Airlines for a very reasonable £103.

It seems almost impossible to get a cheap return flight in the autumn.

For people who have been able to take advantage of cheap flights over the last few years anything over £200 is expensive but I remember paying £285 return way back in 1996 and around that time £250 plus was the norm.

You can book a flight there with TC  £59 To Dalaman and Easyjet return to Manchester for 98 quid.. It is quite common to use 2 plane companies these days. We do all the time..Not sure what the prices are with Easyjet return to other airports but worth a look.. Its also worth noting that when you book one of these £59 journeys that baggage. reserving seats etc. knocks it up to £100 or there about
