We will be flying out on Saturday for our first holiday to Calis. Really hope nothing happens yet. It was booked over a year ago so for it to go wrong now would be horrible. Crossing fingers here.

My family and I got caught out in the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud, when it happened more than a few years ago.  We did have a few extra days holiday, which was great but we did have to be ready at a moments notice to get the next available flight to England.  We did make sure however that instead of staying in our apartment that we contacted our tour operator, who put us up in their emergency accommodation.  This meant that we had constant communication with latest travel and events.  We are leaving to return home tomorrow, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that we do not get caught again.    :)
