Shanghai Blues on seafont
« on: September 03, 2016, 09:15:11 AM »
Went here last night as really fancied a chinese and it was as delicious and plentiful as the one on Baris Manco, far nicer ambience being on the front...
Such a shame to see it so empty though think there was one other couple possibly two and that was it...

We'll fill a couple of seats next week.   8)     Liked the food when we tried it on B Manco a year or so back but the location was not so good - much nicer overlooking the sea.

Is the food Chinese or Cantonese style?
Last time I had a Cantonese, it was like an array of desserts with meat/prawns mixed in;  I know a lot of people like sweet and sour - my husband does - but I hate it!

I wouldn't really say it has a style.
Its ok for a Chinese style fix.

Desserts with meat and prawns mixed in, I think I might give that a miss...

I had boringly a chicken curry and egg fried rice both lovely abd the curry was huge with loads of chicken.
Derek had a mixed  chop suey said it was great and trust me he is quite hard to please re the food out here, he prefers things like chicken half bread and meatball half breads as opposed to most meals he tries but he always enjoys the food from here...
Defo a far nicer setting then the other one on Baris Manco...

Yes the setting is beautiful.
Portions are large. I took half of mine home and made sweet & sour chicken and rice to add to it as John ate all his!
Goung to go to Peking in Hisaronu as its been recommended as much nicer than Shanghai.

We were one of the other two table's. Gill`s sizzling chicken was much nicer than my chicken in black bean sauce. We thought overall it was ok.

Didnt like Peking at all. Shanghai leads this far in the interpretation of Chinese food stakes .
