Oh go on then I'll bite - how so ?

UK saucepans have one long handle, Turkish ones have two little handles opposite each other which makes things a bit unstable if they are full of boiling water  ;)

Mending! From a fridge/ freezer that I have recently had repaired to shoes/boots being soled or repaired at a cobbler. Last autumn I took my boots to the cobbler, he indentified a crack on the sole, repaired it for 5 lira, lasted all last year. Recently had my fridge repaired.

Mayonnaise!

Turkish mayonnaise is exactly 1,000,000 times better than UK ones

I actually liked my 2 handle Turkish saucepans, easier to stack in the cupboard and I got used to draining stuff by holding a tea towel across the lid to the handles, no need for a colander.

Getting a new battery fitted in your watch for 5TL (less than £2 at the time) including a compressed air clean and spray of WD40.

Walking into a cafe and the waiter(ess) not asking the owner how much is the meal going to cost!
