The pictures are really lovely, and except for the lack of people the pic of the prom. reminds me so much of how I always think of the place.. Thank you

Gillian, great photos. Particularly like the one with subtle tones of greys and blues with the fisherman in his boat. I'd like to make a painting from it. Would this be ok with you? There are other fantastic photos posted by other members and I may also paint some more sunsets (though I've already made several paintings from my own shots of Calis beach). I do think its important to get the permission just in case by some miracle you should come across one of my paintings and realise it's from one of your own photos!

Gillian, the other three that I love are your dramatic silhouette sunset images (I'm always spoilt for choice for Calis/Fethiye sunsets!) but these two are outstanding - and the lovely image of the snow capped mountain with the channel in the foreground. I'd like to make oil paintings of them all, but will just choose one for the moment - with your ok!

ArtyMar......Thank you and you are welcome to use any. I took them on my IPad ,but had to wait ill I got back to the UK for my Son to show me how to post them on the Forum. Can't wait for May when we will be back.

Will do, Menthol. I'm halfway through it now and it's coming along quite well. I worked on it today for a couple of hours in one of my painting workshops and plan to continue tomorrow. It's 24" x 20" oil on canvas.

Gillian, when are you going back to UK? If my oil painting turns out really well, I'll bring a digital image of it and give it to the picture framer near the Tuesday market in Fethiye so he can make a large copy onto stretched canvas on a wooden frame (called box canvas) which can then be hung directly on the wall or further framed and then hung on the wall of our villa. If you come over to our villa in time, you might see it and get one made for yourself. The framer in Fethiye charges less than a third of UK prices (at least prices of framers near me). Amazingly reasonable!

ArtyMar....We are in the UK now and will be coming to Calis beginning of May.

Gillian, my painting is coming along well. I have been working on it daily - another few hours (or days!) and it will be finished. I'll post a copy on the forum. We'll be arriving 4 June, leaving Calis on 17 June so it seems we will miss each other in Turkey. Anyway, you'll be able to see the painting here online when it is finished. I hope to exhibit it in an exhibition in the UK coming up in April. If it sells :D, I'll still be able to make really good digital prints of it, either on canvas (any size) or on special paper - A3 size. It's such a beautiful calm and serene photo - looks even better as an oil painting!
