Title: set up wireless internet from dongle

OK, bit of a techies one this.
I want to plug a dongle into my laptop in turkey then create a wireless 'hotspot' so my son can use his Ipad on my connection (dongle).
I've done the googleing and basically got confused. Does anyone know the easiest way to do this. I don't want to spend all holiday messing about to set it up with an impatient teen nagging me.
As an alternative is there a way to plug a dongle direct into Ipad.
For info Laptop is running Windows 7

my brother tried this when we were last out but couldn't make it work. I think he said it was because his ipad didn't have 3g as he didn't take that but some do apparently if you choose it

Hi - lying on the bed typing this on my iPod touch (which does not have 3G) with my netbook in the other room using my Turkcell dongle and some free software called Connectify

A guest is upstairs using a connection as well for her iPhone

I had put a post on about this a few months ago but all I can say is "it works for us" :-)

I saw on the website a reference to "students upgrade to pro version for free" so have a look at that as it gives you even more features (assuming you have a student??) if not use the lite free version.

I don't have an iPad but it will work.

Ps you only need the software on the device that the dongle is plugged in to

At least I know it can be done now, I wondered if it could be done, but went on to link and it far to technical for me, a trip to PC world is called for me thinks.

Honestly I am no techie - it really is easy just download Connectify lite and it takes you through it OR find a 15/16 year old who is bored and they will do it for you :-)

I like it as it works and it is free !!!

Nope! Safari won't allow it. Never mind will have to find a plan B.
