Just to say Hello
« on: August 15, 2005, 22:03:49 PM »
Always enjoy reading all the comments in the Forum but thought it time I should at least say hello.
Ron (my husband) and I have been visiting Calis for lots 'n' lots of years (I daren't start counting!!)
We've seen so many changes  -  some for the better, some not - but still love it and looking forward to our next trip in September. It's great to be greeted as friends by everyone there.  We always stay on the beach front and mostly eat at various places along there too.  Great restuarants and sitting by the sea in the evening air is wonderful!

Hi Ande and Ron

Welcome to the forum.Couldn't agree with you more regarding the changes over the years.

We stayed for many years on the front at the Eroz before we bought our own apt last year. Where do you stay?

Welcome to the forum.  As you say things have changed but it's still kept its charm and hopefully always will.  Have a great time in September.

Thanks a lot for all your welcome messages  -  typical of Calis devotees!!
Have stayed in various hotels there - all very good.  One of the first was the Aries (at the time it was THE place to stay!).  Having said that, there were cows grazing in the scrubland at the side (where all the bars and shops are now) and we needed a torch to see our way past the fields to the bridge!  The Dawn Beach Hotel did not exist, instead there was a long garden with candles in bottles on the tables, and the Post Office was across the road next to the Boats  -  all very rural!
How things have looked up?

Hi Ande- we remember it as you describe. that resteraunt that you refer to had a little stream running through it didnt it!
Also had many happy nights in the Post Office being bitten to death and not knowing what we were eating as the light was so dim!
