We're All in This Together
« on: August 28, 2015, 21:27:34 PM »
At this time the Government are telling us we all need to tighten our belts. At the same time, there is significant debate about the use of, and future of, the House of Lords full of wealthy unelected chums and funders who appear to do next to nothing and get paid handsomely for it.

Wonderful that with all the above the Government have taken action - by adding 40 extra freeloaders to the house.

That's listening to what the electorate want.

I think that at 93 million per year for over 500 Lords when the Lords would only seat just over 200 is ridculous. and time the Lords was scrapped, what good is it anyway. ???

An irate woman on a phone-in programme this week was bitterly complaining that Ian Duncan Smith was talking £30 a week off the benefits received by disabled people whilst, at the same time, Lords get £300 a day simply for turning up and eating a subsidized lunch. I agree with her. As they say: "We are all in this together; but some of us are deeper in it than others".
