Lira down to 3.97 to £ now. And 3.17 against the $. It's having a seriously bad day.

I seen that.  Never say never...

Turkish banks have fixed their online rates for over the weekend, Finans set the lira at 3.86 to the pound and at 3.13 against the USD.  Main site now showing 3.96 and 3.16 respectively.

Except that Eastern Mediterranean Economics means that the fewer tourists you have, the more you have to charge each of them, in order to make up the shortfall. This fuelled Southern Cyprus' downward tourism spiral some years ago.

The Pound has passed the 4 lira mark this morning and the Dollar has topped 3.2 to the lira.
